For the Beef & Rice:
- 200 g 7 oz thinly sliced beef (ribeye or sirloin)
- 2 cups cooked rice preferably day-old for better texture
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp corn optional, for sweetness
- 2 tbsp chopped green onions
- 1 tsp black pepper or to taste
- ½ tsp salt
For the Sauce:
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp mirin or honey as a substitute
- 1 tsp garlic minced
- 1 tsp sugar
- ½ tsp sesame oil
Step 1: Prepare the Sauce
In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, mirin, minced garlic, sugar, and sesame oil. Stir until the sugar dissolves. Set aside.
Step 2: Cook the Beef
Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a pan or skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the thinly sliced beef and sear for 1-2 minutes per side until slightly browned but still tender.
Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
Step 3: Sauté the Rice
In the same pan, melt 1 tbsp butter and add the cooked rice.
Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the rice absorbs the butter and becomes slightly crispy.
Add the corn and mix well.
Step 4: Assemble the Dish
Place the cooked rice in the center of the pan.
Arrange the seared beef around the rice.
Pour the prepared sauce over the beef and rice.
Sprinkle with chopped green onions and a generous amount of freshly ground black pepper.
