Ingredients
  

For the Beef & Rice:

  • 200 g 7 oz thinly sliced beef (ribeye or sirloin)
  • 2 cups cooked rice preferably day-old for better texture
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp corn optional, for sweetness
  • 2 tbsp chopped green onions
  • 1 tsp black pepper or to taste
  • ½ tsp salt

For the Sauce:

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp mirin or honey as a substitute
  • 1 tsp garlic minced
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp sesame oil

Instructions
 

Step 1: Prepare the Sauce

  • In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, mirin, minced garlic, sugar, and sesame oil. Stir until the sugar dissolves. Set aside.

Step 2: Cook the Beef

  • Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a pan or skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the thinly sliced beef and sear for 1-2 minutes per side until slightly browned but still tender.
  • Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.

Step 3: Sauté the Rice

  • In the same pan, melt 1 tbsp butter and add the cooked rice.
  • Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the rice absorbs the butter and becomes slightly crispy.
  • Add the corn and mix well.

Step 4: Assemble the Dish

  • Place the cooked rice in the center of the pan.
  • Arrange the seared beef around the rice.
  • Pour the prepared sauce over the beef and rice.
  • Sprinkle with chopped green onions and a generous amount of freshly ground black pepper.

Step 5: Serve & Enjoy

  • Serve immediately while sizzling hot! Mix everything together before eating for the best flavor.
