Ingredients

Main Ingredients:

  • 1 (8 oz) can crescent roll dough – forms the flaky, buttery base
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage – cooked and crumbled for a savory bite
  • 6 large eggs – the main protein-packed base
  • ½ cup milk – adds creaminess to the egg mixture
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or your choice) – for a melty, cheesy finish
  • ½ teaspoon salt – enhances flavor
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper – adds a touch of spice

Optional Add-ins for Customization:

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder or onion powder – for extra depth of flavor
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes – for a mild kick
  • ½ cup diced bell peppers – for added crunch and color
  • ½ cup sautéed mushrooms or spinach – for extra nutrition
  • ¼ cup crumbled bacon – for more smoky richness

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick cooking spray.
  • In a frying pan, cook the sausage until browned and cooked through, breaking it up into small pieces while it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  • Unroll the crescent roll dough and arrange the pieces in the bottom of the prepared baking dish, pressing them together to form a seamless crust.
  • Sprinkle the cooked sausage evenly over the crescent roll crust.
  • Pour the egg mixture over the sausage, ensuring it’s evenly distributed.
  • Top the casserole with the shredded cheese, spreading it out in a single layer.
  • Bake the crescent roll breakfast casserole for 25-30 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the crust is golden brown.
  • Let the casserole cool before serving.
