Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb Wagyu ground beef
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 4 brioche buns
  • 4 slices cheese cheddar, Gruyère, or smoked gouda
  • 1 tbsp butter for toasting buns
  • ½ cup caramelized onions optional
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 4 slices tomato
  • ¼ cup truffle aioli or preferred sauce

Instructions
 

Prepare the Patties

  • Divide the Wagyu ground beef into four equal portions.
  • Lightly shape into patties, about ¾-inch thick, without overworking the meat.
  • Season both sides with salt and black pepper.

Preheat and Cook

  • Heat a cast iron skillet or grill over medium-high heat.
  • Place the patties on the hot surface and cook 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare.
  • Flip only once and avoid pressing the patties to keep the juices intact.
  • Add cheese during the last minute of cooking and cover to melt.

Toast the Buns

  • Spread butter on the brioche buns and toast them in the skillet or on the grill for 30 seconds until golden brown.

Assemble the Burgers

  • Spread truffle aioli or sauce of choice on the toasted buns.
  • Layer with lettuce, tomato slices, and caramelized onions.
